Privacy

Last updated 20 September 2026.

Short version: the only thing MackFoodie asks you for is an email address, and only if you want the Seasonal Guide. There is no account and no login. We also count visits, without cookies and without knowing who you are. What follows is the honest detail.

What we collect

Your email address, if you sign up for the Seasonal Guide. Nothing else that identifies you. We set no cookies of our own and run no advertising pixels.

We do count visits. The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which tells us how many people viewed a page, which pages they viewed, roughly which country they came from and which site sent them. It uses no cookies, it does not fingerprint your device, and it does not follow you across other websites. We see totals, not people. We use it to learn which ingredients and guides are worth writing more of.

The Seasonal Guide

The Seasonal Guide is our email booklet. It goes out four times a year, once a season. If you sign up, here is exactly what happens:

What our host sees

The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like every web host, Cloudflare records standard request data such as IP address, approximate location, browser type and the page requested. We use this for nothing. It is how the internet works, not a choice we made about you. Cloudflare's own privacy terms cover that data.

Fonts

Typefaces load from Google Fonts. That means Google's servers see your IP address when a page loads. We get nothing back from it.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, MackFoodie may earn a commission. It never changes what you pay, and it never changes what we recommend.

Clicking an affiliate link sends you through a network such as Rakuten Advertising or Amazon, which sets a cookie so the retailer knows the visit came from here. That cookie belongs to the network and the retailer, not to us. Third parties, including Amazon and other advertisers, may serve content, collect information directly from visitors, and place or recognize cookies on visitors' browsers. We can see totals in our dashboard, such as how many clicks a link got and whether a sale happened. We cannot see who you are, what else you bought, or anything else about you.

If you would rather not be tracked that way, you can visit the retailer directly instead. Nothing on this site is gated behind an affiliate link.

Alcohol

Some pages link to wine retailers. You must be of legal drinking age to buy alcohol. Age verification is handled by the retailer, not by us.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them, including email addresses. If you believe a child has signed up for the Seasonal Guide, email us and we will delete the address.

Your rights

Laws in California, the EU, the UK and elsewhere give you the right to see, correct or delete personal data a site holds about you. The only personal data we hold is the email address of a Seasonal Guide subscriber. Email us and we will tell you what we have, correct it, or delete it. Our visit counts are anonymous totals that cannot be traced back to you, so there is nothing there to hand over.

If this changes

If MackFoodie ever collects something new, or starts using what it already has in a different way, this page gets rewritten before that ships, and the date at the top changes. We will not quietly start collecting things.
